Pray

I have finally gotten over the side effects of the Yellow Fever vaccine. Wednesday evening & Thursday morning were pretty horrible, but thankfully God helped me make it through the day. I survived six hours of organic chemistry lab and actually felt increasingly better throughout the day.

The Lord impressed on me today the need for prayer in this world. This wasn't a new or novel thought, really. I KNOW prayer is important in my mind, but today that need travelled to my heart & soul. So often I hear of a hopeless situation or read of one, and God is teaching me to put my thoughts & emotions on hold and just pray. So many times, I can't do anything about the situation, and my only means of affecting change is to cry out to God for his love, mercy, grace and peace over the situation. This was impressed upon me once again this evening.

"Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." -Eph. 6:17-18

Prayer is not to be underestimated. Because it is a weapon, it demands battle. So we must stand, waving standards high with weapons ready and charge.
