I'm currently sitting in the CMA STMO (short term missions office) house with Tim & Meredith Brokopp (two of the COOLEST people ever) and a 1-yr. intern named Liann. VERY cool people! I'm so blessed to be here.
Trip Details:
JFK-Paris: The Lord blessed me with AMAZING fellow passengers. First I was bummed because it appeared that I was the only American on the flight & I got one of those middle seats, but GOD was absolutely amazing in that he placed me between an American elementary school teacher (currently teaching English in France) and an Indian doctor from John Hopkins attending a conference in Geneva about vaccines & public health! BTW, my Air France experience was stupendous!!! What a wonderful plane ride; I got to watch Valkyurie and the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
PARIS Layover: My layover was pretty uneventful. I encountered some rather friendly Air France people who helped me get to where I needed. We arrived from JFK early @ 7am, so I sat in the CDG Paris airport for a few hours. I had a second sandwhich for breakfast & a rice krispy treat & anti-malarial drugs; yipee! I met a drunk Dutch band who travels Africa & plays at Dutch parties. That was interesting.
Paris-LBV: I fell asleep the instant I sat down. This nice Asian lady next to me saved my food because basically I was in acoma throughout the trip. I watched Slumdog Millionare or at least pretended to. My Sunday service consisted of lots of worship music from my iPod.
GABON: I survived a long, ardorous (sp?) process of customs & baggage claim. I was greeted by Tim & Steve who were also waiting for another family who ended up being up on my CDG-LBV flight! So I had dinner with all the missionaries; it was awesome! They are all wonderful & welcoming!
so what about this Dutch band? hah ah aha
ReplyDeleteThey were partially drunk. There were six of them all together. Anyways, they were in there late 40s. Pretty crazy. One guy sat down and talked to me for about 30min. at CDG.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wacky language.
