Living Water?!

"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." (John 7:38)


Earlier in the book of John, Jesus explains to the Samaritan woman that he GIVES living water:

"Jesus answered, 'Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will becomes in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life'." (John 4:13-14)

Here is what I think is radical: not only can we accept the living water (the Holy Spirit who brings salvation), but as the first quoted verse said (John 7:38), living water flows from those who believe in Christ. So, living water starts to flow from US when we truly believe in Christ, obey him and live a life that reflects his character.
